Will ChatGPT take away human jobs?

By Prajwal Haniya

ChatGPT is a great product. I have been using it for months now. The tech community strongly knows that It’s going to change a lot of things. Especially how people browse the internet. If you don’t know what ChatGPT is, then it’s time to Google it & later you might forget googling.

ChatGPT has enormous capability to create + analyze & respond to text content, generate art, and write code. But, that doesn’t mean it will replace artists, content creators, or coders. Of course, there is a slight threat to bloggers as their websites may not be ranked as google does. So it may hurt a lot of business which depends on Google’s SEO.

The People who used to manage customers by manually talking to them may be cut down, as chatbots like ChatGPT can generate a better response 24hrs a day and throughout the year with very less downtime.

And one important thing, it’s not going to take away all jobs. Because it’s very poor in giving a solution that is in context. People who write original content will definitely survive as people will search for them online, or visit their sites directly. So, the quality of traffic matters a lot. And it can’t write code based on the context. So, it can act as a great assistant.

At the end of the day, you need a human who can ask the right questions to get the right answers from those AI applications. How will people ask the right questions? It can only come if you are skilled at that particular task. If you are a painter, you may not know how to write APIs or what a server is. And if you are a software engineer you may not know how to paint technically. So, I hope humans can thrive by making use of such applications.

Ignore the news & short form of content, and start reading the documentation, books & essays. You will be a lot happier and more satisfied.
